COLLINE HILL - Singer. Songwriter - Folk-Americana-Country
Bretonne, Based in Belgium.
Colline Hill is a Belgian-based singer-songwriter, born in Brittany (France). Her music is a perfect blend of Folk & Americana roots. She describes herself as an “emotionteller” more than a storyteller. Fitted with an amazing voice and an original self-taught guitar-playing, she has already been chosen to open big shows for big acts like America, Crosby Stills & Nash, Imelda May, The Head and The Heart (in great venues like Ancienne Belgique, Het Dépôt, Olympia, Bataclan).

Following a first album "WISHES" in 2012, produced by the English arranger Stuart Bruce (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Loreena McKennitt) and a hundred dates on scenes like Botanique, Francofolies (Belgium), Olympia or Bataclan (France), Colline Hill released "SKIMMED" in 2015.
Translated as the swept scum that reveals the reef, the second album of the Breton songwriter is more than ever full of truth. It reveals a rich and subtle writing, carried by a voice that grew in silences and emotions. In February 2016, she won the « Best album of the year » award in Brittany with this new opus (the same award Yann Tiersen was granted a few years before).
The same year, the artist commits herself by signing the emblematic title of the French association BLOOM, which fights for the preservation of the oceans. The French songwriter, established in Belgium, has notably illustrated the opening of mythical figures of Folk such as America, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Head and The Heart (New Casino), Imelda May (Interceltic Festival of Lorient), Miossec (Festival de la St Loup), or at the Cornwall Festival, and Les Vieilles Charrues in the band "The Celtic Social Club".

On July, 2018 the French magazine GUITARE SÈCHE honored her in her special chronicles dedicated to the "FEMALE FOLK SINGERS" and recognized her as the only French artist worthy of excelling in the country-folk-americana style, alongside Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell or Emmy Lou Harris.

Written out of sight, "SHELTER" sounds like the return of the Belgian-based singer-songwriter, Colline Hill. 4 years after the release of the 2nd second album "SKIMMED" (Best album of the year in Brittany in 2016), the songwriter succeeds in the perilous exercise of gaining height by unrolling 7 tracks, with the voice and the guitar for only attires. Far from atmospheric sounds of the previous album, we are dealing here with raw songwriting, a dusty strand, which smells good the plains of America.
